No more iAfma
~ An Editorial ~

iAfma is:
Internet Affiliate Marketing Association

USAMC is:
United States Affiliate Manager Coalition

It's disappointing that an organization that seemed to have some promise ended up disappearing. It started out as a newsletter list called USAMC. Later newsletter members were encouraged to migrate to iAfma. A few such organizations like iAfma went by the way side around the same time.

The original goal for iAfma was to help establish good relations between merchants and their affiliate members. Affiliate members hated thiefware (understandably) and some of the merchants and third party tracking services didn't quite agree on what was thiefware and what was not. Thiefware that intercepts commission referral links hurts the affiliates. Affiliates get cheated. Some of the merchants defended the practice to a point. Heated debates ensued and that's when some iAfma members were ousted from the forums. Despite those members somewhat abusive stance against some of the thiefware merchants, it is understandable why they were upset over the injustice and the merchant's unwillingness to see the wrong in what they were doing. Conversations were cut to a trickle. iAfma died afterwards when the forums were taken down. Now the domain and organization are gone.
