| Examples of What eZula's TopText Does to Web Pages |
Although these ThiefWare ad links can be a
source of irritation to people surfing, if you are a web site owner you will be especially
concerned over what TopText, EazyLinks (EasyLinks), and similar
programs do to your Web pages. These screen shots (below) are examples of what TopText
does to pages. This will help you to understand the hyperlinking type of ThiefWare ad
Looksmart carries through with an eZula partnership to put forth
more golden links. 12/08/01 technology and how
it can hurt your web site content. The resulting golden links take visitors away from your
sites which can translate into loss revenue or viewership.
If people are buying product from your site and see competitors' links within your Web
pages you risk loosing sales. These links can be source of irritation to your site
visitors because they interupt the normal flow of site navigation and/or shopping cart
features. If your site sells ad space for revenue you stand to lose because TopText
inserts other ad links that pay you nothing. Perhaps you have affiliate links where you
make commissions when people click on them. In this situation the visitor is presented
with 2 links with the irritating popup decision box that adds another step to the
navigation process. Now the chances of making your commission is cut in half.
Like all other ThiefWare, eZula TopText does NOT give you a penny of
the revenue it gets from people leaving your site via it's links. Would you join a banner
network where you got absolutely nothing from them while they raked in the money from your
hard work? Certainly NOT!

was their ad link), they realized buying into this ad
network was unethical once they understood how the ads were
generated and since has pulled their ads 08/13/01.

These yellow lines that people refer to are actually
more bronze colored than yellow.
