Hijacked keywords: the keywords listed may or may not be currently linked in connection with the company listed. They are listed because at one time they were used or are currently being targeted.

NOTE: We will NOT post web sites that feature porn, gambling, hard-core language, and other objectionable material that @PAGE deems offensive even if they are guilty of advertising with ThiefWare services.

Computer Language Company,
Phone: 1-215-297-8082
Phone: 1-888-815-3772 (toll free)
FAX: 1-215-297-8424
E-mail: sales@computerlanguage.com
Hijacked keyword(s): DBM, fire wire, XML, UNIX, ASP, bytes, VBScript, CPU, DHTML, Object Oriented Programming, Visual Basic, dynamic HTML, Router, TCP/IP, ASCII, Parallel Port, VPN, ISDN, http, Proxy Server, and other computer terms
Link(s) Served By: eZula TopText
Comments: The Computer Language Company began providing their dictionary service for eZula in 2001. This makes them guilty by association because they get paid by eZula to use their dictionary service. eZula links various computer terms on site owners' web sites without the site owner's permission, linking back to the Computer Language Company's online dictionary diverting traffic away from other web sites. This in effect advertises their dictionary though they may not view it as advertising. What is advertising? The calling of attention to your product or service. Even though they are paid by eZula, they still get displayed or advertised.

Merriam-Webster Dictionary,
Phone: 413-734-3134
FAX: 413-731-5979
E-mail: suggest@m-w.com
Hijacked keyword(s): (various dictionary terms across various Web sites)
Link(s) Served By: eZula TopText (Important Note: terms highlighted are not ads)
Comments: Merriam-Webster Dictionary is not advertising with eZula. eZula is using their site to make TopText appear valuable to the user and it seems Merriam-Webster is permitting this action. While Merriam-Webster is not paying for ads, it appears they may be condoning TopText to a degree by appearing to allow eZula to display dictionary terms via their site.

We wish that Merriam-Webster would at least inform us that they have contacted eZula to stop using their dictionary as an add-on service for eZula's benefit. This would show us that they do not condone what eZula is doing and it would show us where Merriam-Webster stands on the subject even if eZula refused to honor Merriam-Webster Dictionary's request. Merriam-Webster would also stand to gain positive remarks from the Webmaster community in general.

** These people were contacted a minimum number of times as indicated. Many people likely contact the advertisers without letting us know.

Editor's Note: The list of sites above is not a blacklist of companies. The information is provided so that other webmasters and site owners can contact these advertisers and convince them with reasons why they should not work with ThiefWare services. It is hoped that the advertisers will come to their senses so to speak. No grudge is held against first time offenders (until further notice).
